   Download the launcher

   Pick your platform above. Windows gets an installer, Linux a portable AppImage, and macOS a zip. Every download page shows a SHA-256 checksum so you can verify the file is genuine before running it.

   Install and open it

   Windows: run the installer. If SmartScreen appears, click 'More info' then 'Run anyway'. Linux: make the AppImage executable and run it (the download page has copy-paste commands). macOS: unzip and drag the app into Applications.

   Sign in

   Sign in with Discord in the launcher, then with your Microsoft account on the title screen in game. The launcher downloads the client, mods, and the right Java automatically, so the first launch takes a little longer.

4. 4

   Launch and play

   Hit Launch and join any 1.8.9 server. Press Right Shift in game to open the mod menu, set your keybinds, and pick a theme. Updates install themselves the next time you open the launcher.
