Privacy Policy

Rocket Client is a private, unofficial project run by one person who lives in Germany, not a company or registered business. This page says what the website, launcher, and related services at rocketclient.net actually handle. German and EU data protection law (GDPR) applies.
Who is responsible
The operator of rocketclient.net, a natural person resident in Germany (the controller). Contact: open a ticket on Discord at rocketclient.net/discord.
What we collect
- Discord sign-in. If you log in on the site or launcher, Discord sends us your Discord user id, username or display name, and avatar. We never receive your Discord password.
- Session cookies. Used to keep you signed in on this site. Cloudflare and the bot check (Turnstile) may also set cookies so we can tell a person from a script.
- Launcher cloud settings. If you use cloud sync, we store the launcher or game settings you choose to sync, keyed to your Discord account.
- Minecraft link. If you claim a Java account, we store that Minecraft UUID and name next to your Discord id. We do not get your Microsoft password. Microsoft login stays with Microsoft or on your machine.
- Workshop submissions. Cosmetic name, type, visibility, texture image or title text, and your Discord id. If you share a private item, people with the link can fetch the file. Staff see submissions, including on a Discord webhook, to review them.
- Cosmetics library. Which workshop items you added or equipped, keyed to your Discord account.
- Crash reports. Only if you send one. Then the logs go to a Discord webhook for staff debugging. A log can include usernames, file paths, and other text the client put in the file.
- Screenshot links. Only if you press Link in the client gallery. We store the image so people with that link can see it. We do not attach it to your Discord or Minecraft account.
- Server logs and flood limits. Normal web logs (IP address, user agent, URL, time) for security. We also keep short daily counts of workshop submits per account and per IP so a pile of accounts cannot fill the disk.
- In-game pings. While the client is running it may call our site. We keep a short hash of that request in memory for about 90 seconds to count who is online. We do not save a lasting profile, and we do not send that address to Discord.
Why we process it
- Contract: sign-in, launcher sync, workshop, cosmetics library, and the Minecraft link, so the Service you asked for works.
- Legitimate interest: security logs, upload flood limits, the short online count, encrypted backups, and reviewing uploads for abuse or theft.
- We do not need a separate consent tick for those. Optional tips go through Ko-fi and their payment provider, not through us.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not run third-party ad networks or analytics pixels on this site.
- We do not ask for your Discord or Minecraft password.
Third parties and where data goes
Sign-in, tickets, staff review of crashes and workshop files, and the community server (if you join) use Discord. Cloudflare provides the CDN, attack protection, and the Turnstile bot check, and may see IP and request data. The site and workshop files run on a rented server in Canada. Encrypted backups of workshop files and related site data are stored with a third-party host so a dead disk does not wipe user cosmetics. Microsoft or Mojang handle game login and skins. Optional tips go through Ko-fi and PayPal or Stripe. We do not see your card number.
Those companies may process data outside the EEA, including the United States and Canada. We use them because the Service cannot run without them. We are not responsible for Discord, Mojang, Microsoft, Cloudflare, Ko-fi, PayPal, Stripe, or any game server you connect to.
How long we keep it
Session cookies last until you sign out or the cookie dies. Account-linked data is kept while you use the Service and for a reasonable time after, unless you ask us to delete it. If you delete a workshop item, it leaves the public catalog. A copy may sit in an admin trash for a short time, then it is erased. Other people may keep a copy they already have. Daily submit counts last about a day. The online ping hash lasts about 90 seconds in memory. Encrypted backups and security logs stay a limited time.
Your rights
You can delete your own workshop items in the workshop. To ask us to delete or export data tied to your Discord id, open a ticket on Discord at rocketclient.net/discord from that same account. We will do what we reasonably can. Some records (for example abuse or security logs) may be kept where we have a legitimate need.
If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, you can also ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, restrict or object to some processing, or ask for portability, the same way. You can complain to a German data protection authority, or to the authority in your own country.
Children
You must be at least 16, or 13 to 15 with a parent or guardian's permission. You also need a Discord account and a legitimate Minecraft Java Edition account. Do not use the Service if Discord or Minecraft does not allow you to use their products.
Changes
If this policy changes in a material way, we will update the date above and note it on the website changelog. Keep using the site or software after that only if you accept the updated policy.
